Stan with Prayer Partner, Rev. Gary Daud

Recently our friend, Gary Daud, came to visit us with the Missouri W&W team. Gary is our special prayer partner and it was a real joy to spend some time with him.

Stan & Landon with Otavalon family

Our family went to Otavalo, Ecuador, which is an indigenous community that creates and sells the most beautiful tapestries and woven items. Part of their traditional dress includes the black hat that Landon is wearing.

Open Market in Riobama

While Stan was in Riobamba, he visited an open market. Because this is a market for locals, not tourists, he also saw rows of fish and goat heads. Definitely a cultural experience!

Assembly at Nazarene School

A Work & Witness team from the Missouri District spent two weeks in Riobamba, Ecuador. Because so many on the team are good friends, Stan spent several days in Riobamba with the team. Although construction was the primary job, there were several on this team with a heart for children's ministry. There is a Nazarene school in Riobamba, so some of the team members spoke at a school assembly. The children enjoyed the magic tricks and stories. They had a second assembly with the highschoolers. At the end, about 50 teens prayed to receive Christ! It was a wonderful day! At the job site, this same group held a daily bible study for kids in the neighborhood (when they got off the bus at lunch time).

Tres Amigos en Ecuador

One of Stan's best friends, Doug Green (shown on left), came to Ecuador to teach pastors in the jungle with a fellow missionary, Bill McDonald (in the middle). Bill has the great distinction of surviving his job as a youth pastor to both Stan and Doug 27 years ago! After Doug's time with Bill, he and his daughter, Jocelyn, visited with us for one day in Quito. It was a great time to get caught up with Doug and to meet Jocelyn. Doug is a pastor in Brea, California.
